I remember that one of the guys works for Bass Pro Shops. When is the new Bass Pro Shop going to open near Baton Rouge? Last I heard, it will open Feb. 6th.

Denham Springs, Louisiana (January 29th, 2008)--Bass Pro Shops, recently voted the #1 outdoor retailer in America by Sporting Goods Business Magazine, will celebrate its 48th store's Grand Opening beginning at 8:00 AM Thursday, February 7th and continuing through Sunday, February 10th. The new Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World will include an Islamorada Fish Company Restaurant and is located at I-12 and Range Avenue.







The Grand Opening celebration will be preceded by a special Evening for Conservation Wednesday, February 6th that is free and open to the public. Area conservation groups partnering with Bass Pro Shops will set up display booths to educate customers on their efforts and projects with a portion of the night's sales benefiting the National Fish Initiative's "More Fish" campaign.







Grand Opening festivities include special exhibits, celebrity guests, store-wide savings and fantastic giveaways. You can visit with today's experts on fishing, hunting, camping, boating and more. See huge displays from the industry's top manufacturers and talk with factory representatives to get the latest information on new products.







Regular store hours are Monday through Saturday 9 AM-10 PM and Sunday 10 AM-7 PM but the store will open at 8:00 AM Thursday, February 7th. The first 500 customers Thursday, February 7th through Sunday, February 10th will receive a special gift with purchase like commemorative lures, duck calls, LED fans and a Bass Pro Shops koozie, carabineer and water bottle.

Thursday, February 7th, you can visit and get angling tips and techniques from some of the nation's top pros like, legendary angler and TV host Jimmy Houston, 9-time Bassmaster Angler-of-the-Year Roland Martin, 2000 Bassmaster Classic Champion Woo Daves, "Mr. Crappie" Wally Marshall, and Bass Pro Shops National Fishing Team members Stacey King and Chris Daves. Also that day, spend some time with Louisiana native and lure designer Shoestring Dubois. Lyrnyrd Skynyrd's Rickey Medlocke will be available too. Then, Bass Pro Staff member John Maniaci teams up with "Scales & Tales" cartoonist Bill McElroy Saturday and Sunday, February 9th and 10th.





Special displays through Sunday, February 10th include the Bass Pro Shops #1 NASCAR car, the Bass Pro Shops #20 Sprint car and the exciting Toyota Street Team. Those into monster bucks won't want to miss the awesome King of Bucks Trailer featuring 25 world record whitetail deer mounts on display Friday through Sunday, February 15th and 16th.







The store offers 163,000 square feet of outdoor excitement including the area's largest selection of quality gear for fishing, hunting, camping, boating and marine. Much more than a hunting and fishing store, however, Bass Pro Shops also offers equipment for hiking, backpacking, outdoor cooking and more. Shoppers will find outdoor apparel for men, women and children, along with a fine selection of outdoor, casual and athletic footwear. A gift and nature center serves up a wide variety of outdoor-related items from lamps and dishes to bird feeders and furniture.







The 11,000+ square-foot Islamorada Fish Company restaurant (pronounced 'eye-la-mah-rah-dah') will feature fresh seafood entrees, smoked meats and wild game, rotisserie broiled fowl, great steaks

Yeah go to Baton Rouge BPS you all just skipped by BPS Council Bluffs. I know when I'm being shunned.:(:(:(:( To make matters worse I had all those topless dancers lined up in the "Green Room" in the back of the store. I had to comfort one young lady that I promised Mac would drawn something on her handles.

That store has been open for a while right? I know we had something going on that weekend when it opened, I dont remember what it was now.
 
We opened Nov 3 2005. I just got my two year pin last Thursday. We'll Council Bluffs isn't a very glamous place rich in history like some locations. It's a great place to leave.

Actually we have three casinos, dog racing, xxx bookstores just like the big cities have.
