Hey Ya'll, my fishin' buddy bought a Navionics Hotmaps premium chip but can't get it to work on his Humminbird SI unit. Seems to me I remember reading that you have to "load" the maps on your unit before it will show up. The directions, limited as they are, state it is a "plug n' play", but I don't believe that is the case. Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated. There are lots of YouTube videos, but nothing about getting it set up, just using it once it's loaded. Thanks

JP,

Try this link from the Lakes FAQS section in Navionics website.

You dont LOAD any files from the chip to your unit or visa versa. In fact if you write to the chip you will render it useless.

not knowing Humminbirds, I cant help. There should be a map selection option somewhere.

Thanks Ya'll, I will let you know how it goes.

Greg, It's a 997 Si, not sure on the software, will have to check.
