Hard to crank after each trip

2007 nitro 700lx boat runs great. Only issue I’m having is after every trip in take on the boat it is hard to start. I have to crank it over and over and have the idle up over half way for a good 5 minutes or more before she will stay idle. After the boat is warm she will crank first turn of the key all day. What could be my issue ?

Might be a good thing to give up the make and model of the engine. My Mercury Optimax has 3 fuel pumps, which have given me startup issues...

It’s a mercury 90. The motor that came with the boat. Sorry about that
