extra space for pro team 185

hello im thinking about building extra standing space with a compartment to store in my 185 just wondering if anyone has done it yet thanks rob [email protected]

Hey Rob, I added a "flipping deck" to my old 2003 P/T 185. I sold the boat to a fellow NTOWS'er, Bryan Fery (Fary ?). He has pictures of the boat and deck in his library. It was easy to build and I ordered the carpet to match from Tracker for around $20.00 plus s/h I think. When the carpet came in it was a little lighter than the old carpet, but it wasn't bad.



I basically used 2X2's for the frame and treated 3/4" plywood on the deck and the backside (facing the seats). I screwed it together with 2" screws and corner braces in the corners. I probably could have made it lighter, but I'm an overkill kiind of guy.

Why build, just buy my boat with it already installed. Actually, I started the boat yesterday to add fuel stabilizer to the tank for the winter. Started right up and ran for about 15-20 minutes. Kindof made me want to go fishing. But the 30mph winds made me think better.
