Went from 3 layer to 4 layer leaf spring ...the ride is no different. Slightly heavier than old springs. The mechanic who fixed it specializes in trailer suspensions and frames so i am pretty sure he knew what he was doing.

It is a Nitro 750 ... the leaf spring split in half ...looked like rust. In the center. It is a galvanized trailer. The mechanic who fixed it said he has seen this before. When he repaired it he put heavier duty leaf springs on it.

I have to replace the fender bunks on my nitro trailstar trailer. Can you remove the fenders without problems to do this. I see there are four bolts holding fender to steps.

Driving up to Canada for fishing vacation when axle suddenly falls off trailer on NY state thruway...found out cause was leaf spring broke in half. Luckily no one hurt but needless to say a near catastrophe... 22 year old trailer...check your leaf springs so you might be able to prevent this.

Years ago I replaced my bunks with pressure treated wood and carpet. There was a video on this site that was excellent showing step by step process and it helped me out tremendously

Update ... picked up the boat from marina yesterday .... mechanic said problem with electronics was corroded connections...cleaned them ...so far so good

I dropped boat off at marina for some needed work and advised them about my electronics problem ... also told them to look at attaching electronics to separate battery...thank you for your help
