Having problems with water in gas. Separator overfills, engine quits. I'm fairly certain my fuel source is good. Filler cap has good seal and lock.
Anyone had problems with water getting into fuel? Occasionally the boat takes on some water (leaking rivets?) and covers top of tank at stern. Hoses/connections look good. Ideas?

If water can get in that way that means fuel and vapors can get out ( BOOM !! ) . Try pumping the fuel tank completely dry sounds like you have a lot of water in it. More then the fuel water separator filter can handle. Drain the water from the filter and start with fresh gas. If the boat has been seating for a while that's how the water got there. However some more info would be good.

fairly certain the fuel source is good? buy a jerry can of gas there and put a genuine chamois over the nozzle. the gas will flow through but the water will not. when you look at the chamous you will see the water if it is present.
