Trailer VIN

Can anyone tell me where the VIN should be on my trailer? 1986 trailer.

Near the tongue on the inside edge of the rail....the V part.

Ok, I looked all around that area and didn't find any numbers at all. Not sure what to do now. I have to take the trailer for a VIN verification and would like to make as few trips to DMV as possible. Was the VIN originally etched or was it a sticker of some sort?

sticker, usually on the stbd side of the Y, inside edge of the rail.

Is it a Tracker? if so email me your boat VIN and I should be able to get the trailer VIN

Hi Kat, first post so bear with me, I am having the same issue as everyone who buys an old boat, the VIN sticker just faded away and I have not find the VIN number anywhere on the trailer, believe me I've looked all nooks and crannies. I read in this post that you are able to find my trailers VIN by having the respective boat's VIN checked in. Questions: how does this work? Can you do mine? Please. Thank a lot. RG.
