This issue is common with all brands. More often than not....the trailer is submerged too deep, angle of attack too great. :(
Hello. I bought a Nitro 288 F and S last year. I have never been able to load the boat so that it land on top of the roller, no matter what depth the trailer is at in the water. I'm thinking of shimming up the

I have this problem with my Nitro 288, no matter how deep, or not, the trailer is in the water or the angle of the ramp. Is shimming the bunk boards up an option? I'm out of patience! Thank you. Matt

I've had the same problem with my 2001 Nitro 288 F&S boat. No matter how I put the trailer in the water, or the incline of the boat ramp, my boat always came in under the front roller. I ended up swimming up the front bunk boards and two bunk boards in back with 1" treated wood pieces. The bunk board brackets, from the factory, were too low and could not be adjusted, as they are welded. Fairly simple fix to a very aggravating problem. Now, my boat rides up properly on the bunk boards and it comes in over the bow roller, as it should. I also had the problem of the rear axle tires rubbing on the fenders. The extra lift gave more clearance between the tires and the fenders! Good luck out there. PS, I love the boat but in my opinion, the trailer has a basic design flaw.

I've got the same rig, I believe , a 2003 custom trailer and 288 F&S. I have to be exact when throttling up and use lots of HP. I repowered to a Evinrude Ficht 225, perhaps the weight added helps it align with the rolleer?

Hi Thomas. I actually have a 225 hp Mercury Mariner on my boat. I've tried "powerloading," without much success. Thanks for the reply!
