Had 30 minutes between calls at lunch today, so decided to work on the Marinco Trolling Motor Plug/Recepticle. Very easy to do!! Removed the bow panel, removed the OEM recepticle and cut wires. Existing hole was perfect (if a little loose) to fit the Marinco receiver. Stripped and installed the wires in the reciever, attached the reciever to the bow panel. I had to drill out the existing mounting plate holes a little, and used the OEM screw/Nuts to secure the Marinco receiver. Used clear silicone around the edges of the reciever thru the hole in the bow panel and the screw holes to keep it water tight.
Next came the trolling motor plug itself. That was quicker but a little more planning. As the MotorGuide wires are bound and to make sure there was enough wire thru the Marinco Plug cover (only 2 holes not a large channel to take the bound wire thru) I had to strip the trolling motor wire cover back a bit. Everything else went quick and easy, and then I covered the exposed Red/Black wires with electrical tape to give it a finished look. I do like the locking mechanism on the Marinco Trolling Motor plug, gives me a sense of security that it's in tight!
Now, if we could get the cold wet weather sent BACK to you Yankee's I could try her out!
Thanks again Sue!!!
