Years ago, I bought some panfish jigs at a small tackle store in Pensacola FL. They are lightweight ball-head jigs with colored bucktail hair. There are two pieces of straight tinsel sticking out the back, about an inch past the bucktail hair. The middle is wrapped with metalic or bright colored chinille.

My best colors were:

1) Black head and bucktail - silver metallic chinille

2) Chartreuse head and bucktail - bright orange chinille

3) Chartreuse head and bucktail - chartruese and black stripped chinille (bumblebee)

4) Pink on everything.

They were the best I've ever used, and I'm almost out. I guess I could make my own, but I've always disliked tying small stuff like that - I always end up gluing my fingers to the chinille or something like that.

Anyone know of that brand, or someone who makes something similar?

All the best,

Glenn

Glenn,

Check on the Texas Fishing Forum 'Crappie' page. Many good jig's are on that site, sold by some of the members. Ususally decently priced. Several will make them to your spec's if wanted.

Youd described what it sounds like I used to use for crappie and blue gills!

Great jigs, specially in stained water.

Bought mine at a place called Lunker's in Edwardsburg, Michigan.

Randy!
