My straps for all my storage compartments are ripped apart. I was going to replace them with pieces from a ratchet strap. Does anything think this is a bad idea or do you think that material will be a good replacement?

Search straps, loop straps, compartment strap, this topic was on a thread just a number of days ago.

I used ratchet straps on my Z-7 live well lids and they worked great. There are several different thicknesses available out there to picked the thinnest I could find. Lasted longer then the originals did, and were still on it when it was sold last year.

Climbers use the material for custom made straps all the time. Go to a store that has climbing gear for a lot of selection. Remember to sear the ends or get it cut at the store for the length you need. Use screws with the grommet heads to keep from pulling them out.
