South Bend Reel Parts

Anyone know where you can get South Bend reel parts reasonably? Last year I bought a cheapo rod and reel combo for crappie fishing, and yesterday I dropped the spool/drag nut yesterday in the boat and in one bounce it was gone. Thanks in advance,

You should be able to replace the nut at any "real" hardware store. However, try contacting the South Bend folks thru the link below.

Thanks Marty, come to find out there are NO reel parts in the US, but they are going to replace this reel since it is so new. I guess everything is about to become disposable....

Surprising, yet not surprising. Shakespeare [Columbia, SC] makes parts available. However, he told me nuts/screws could be had at any hardware store with a good inventory. I needed the nut "cap" which is purely a reel item. But, you're getting a new reel for breaking "Truth 76" of boating truths--"no matter how big the boat, if a critical part is dropped, it will find its way to the water-:lol:-that is great!
