Safety chains

I've seen some new trailers that have retractable safety chains. Are these built in or can they be added to older trailers? Thanks...

Yes, my '04 882 has the retractable safety chains. They are nice.

How about the safety chain that is in the form of a coiled cable? They replace the standard chain and install exactly the same way. The cable itself acts like a big spring, Very nice. I've seen them on my buddies skeeter. Can you get those after market?

Anybody have comments on this type of safety chain. Seems like a great approach. Attaches like the regular chain but has a coiling so they self retract.
