I recently ordered an new depth finder with the side scan. What is the best way to mount the bracket for the transducer. I get a bit leary drilling into the bottom of a perfectly good boat. Its a 18 ft tracker tundra. Can I just after drilling the holes use silicon in the holes before screwing on the transducer to keep it all water tight.

Attach a mounting board to the hull and then screw the transducer bracket to the board.

Check out the products that SternMate has. There are several other choices also that the mount surface is adhered to the hull for mounting accessories.

Do a web search for "transducer mount board" and you will find those choices.

Just remember the SI transducer can "see" left and right all the way to the water's surface. Plan that into your mount position.
