Motorguide 12/24 Blowing Fuse

Motorguide 12/24 when switch to 24v blows the fuse. When in 12 v position no power with both fuses replaced and working. Once I switch to 24 blows the fuse battery A red wire going to motor. Never blows the B battery fuse.
Any help where to start? I have power to the pedal. Is it in the motor, pedal plug?

If you haven't done so, pull the prop ans see if there is a bunch of weed wrapped on the motor shaft.

The old 12-24 v systems where switched in the head for 12-24v on the Motor Guides so your plug has 3 wires and the battery is wired 24v with the third wire at 12v
