The message board is sporting a couple of new features tonight.

You'll notice that there is now a field for entering a Link URL with each message.

Also, the Picture field normally found on the Swap/Sell board is now available for the message and event boards.

To use either of these fields, just enter the fully qualified URL (make sure to include the 'http://' portion) for a link and/or picture you want to appear in your post.

By popular demand, the final enhancement this evening is the PREVIEW button. If you would like to review your message before posting it, press PREVIEW. You will see your message (including link and image, if applicable) for review before committing it to the message board.

But wait, there's more. The preview feature includes a spell checker. Misspelled or unknown words are highlighted and underlined in blue. Each misspelled word is also a link to dictionary.com where the unknown word will be automatically submitted for alternative spelling suggestions. The spell checker expects plain english text. I make no guarantees of functionality if you stick HTML tags in the message text. Use the Link and Picture fields rather than include HTML in your message text.

I hope these work smoothly, but as with any new feature, please be patient if there is a hiccup or two.

I've used the Link and Picture fields in this message as an example.

On the flip side - I just used it (does "committment" have one or two T's?) and it worked perfectly! A bit slow - but works!

Thanks, Rich!

me!

Hey Rich,

Nice enhancement to the sight!!! Worked on my end just fine.

John

No problem, Gary. It's a good test of the link capability.

Hey Gary, I just clicked on your link and it would not open. I kept getting the " this page cannot be displayed" message. just wanted to let you know. Rich, the same thing happened to me that happened to Eric B. when I tried to edit my message, it was gone. other than that I think it will be GREAT!!! Nice job

Nope..just tryed it again, Im useing Netscape (newest version), wont do
the IE bit...anyways...it must be me somehow. dont worry bout it.

Rich...great job! Everything is working as designed on my end. I really like the new adds.

Eric, does "nope" mean it worked or didn't work the second time? And Netscape's "newest version," can you give me a version number so I can download it? There have been many patches to the Netscape Navigator latest major release.
