Max RPM on 115 4-stroke?

Can anyone tell me the max WOT RPM after break-in for a 2002 Mercury 115 4-stroke? What I find on the Merc web site is 5000-6000. Would it be 6000 with a light load and 5000 with a heavy load? 5000-6000 just seems too much of a variance.

Look right on the VIN plate on the motor itself, right side of mounting bracket, and it will tell you the max rpms...
