Low oil/overheat warning horn, Y2K 40 Merc.

I read someplace, maybe here, about putting a red warning light in the
dash which would be wired into the warning horn of the Low Oil/Overheat
horn which is on my 2000 40hp Merc. Well, could someone tell me where
this is located at and how I can get to it? If you have done this, would love
the help. Thanks.

Can anyone tell me what color wires these are? Also, is there a safe
way to test this out?
