Are you willing to sand and repaint? A couple hours of sanding and prepping would make the plate brand new again and cheaper. Maybe take it to a body shop to paint it or have it dipped in chrome.

I just now read where you state that it is plastic. a piece of metal would be thinner, since you said it has to be flexible.
 
Yes and made templates that I could clamp down that would keep me inside the lines. The templates were made from thin scrap and took a bit of fine tuning to get each template to just the right dimensions for the square holes. Actually much easier than I thought. For the round holes, a hole saw or drill bit was used.
 
I have a CNC mill in my shop and I love doing this kind of stuff. I can make new ones from aluminum and I don’t think it would cost much. Basically enough to cover material
