I have a 1999 896 Nitro savage. Going to have to replace a leaking flowrite cable actuated valve. would like to go back with new hose. The type in it are ribbed on outside and smooth inside. They have a plastic reinforcer made into hose much like the style on car radiator hoses except cars used wire for reinforcement.Has anyone ever just used the clear 3/4 hose you buy at lowe's to replace this type?

You should use a supported exterior hose. The last thing you want is that clear tubing to collapse and restrict flow. On the way to weigh in or the cleaning table would be a bad way to find out when it does, because it will. A reinforced semi rigid hose belongs there for best performance. Good luck! ;)
