I have a Garmin Striker 4 fish finder that I'm attempting to adapt to deployable pole instead of attaching to my trolling motor. My question is can the transducer cable be shortened without screwing up the signal back to the monitor? I'll roll up the excess cable if it can't be done correctly. By the way I'm a mechanical tinkerer not an electrical tinkerer. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for indulging me.
