update hooked up returned reconditioned sonar. still doesn't work. exactly the same problem. the Garmin logo comes on but no menu screen .after about 15 seconds it turns itself off. one quick flash of the menu screen and then off. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Sounds like a low battery voltage

I had a similar problem. Changed out the transducer with a new one found on Amazon and it worked fine,,,,till I accidently pinched/cut the wire.

update # 2 after the replacement didn't work called customer serv. the young man told me i wasn't getting enough amperage. to wire direct to the battery. I did . works fine.
