I have a 2003 288 Sport and decided to add a Lowrance Hook 2 GPS to replace my non-functioning speedo and add a fish finder. It has some other nice features that I use as well (water temp, waypoints, some basic mapping, depth, etc). It's a small unit so I mounted it directly behind the steering wheel. It doesn't block much (trim gauge) and, to me, is well worth it. Around $120.
