After repacking my bearings I noticed grease spots all over my rim whenever I take it out. Should I be adding more grease or just keep cleaning the rim till it stops?

Thanks in advance!

Happy New Year Everyone!

Do you have Bearing Buddies?...Are the grease spots outside or inside...I don't think you should be seeing grease spots (except very small amounts...maybe) if everything is "right"....

If everything is working properly, whether you have the flow thru or the regular hubs and your seals are good you shouldn't see any grease flinging on your trailer or rims. Most problems with bearing is people pumping too much grease in and blowing the seals. JMHO

Jack, One of my rubber dust caps developed a small, barely visible crack

in it, which resulted in the same greasey rim condition for me. A new cap fixed it! Mike L.

I have the Lubramatic kind. There is a little hole in the front before the gasket that idicates to stop when the grease is seen comming out. Is Bearing Buddies better?

Thanks again!
