Does anyone know of, or have a link to a wiring harness type system that plugs into your trailer wiring harness that allows the boat batteries to be charged off the alternator of the vehicle?

I spoke with a guy in Maine this year (he had a Tracker too) and he said he had seen a setup like this that charges the batteries in your boat while you are driving.

Can it be done?

Thanks

Bruce

I found the answer on an Exide battery FAQ page www.exide.co.nz/faqs/marine.htm

"Can I charge my travel trailer batteries while I'm pulling the trailer?

Yes. Install a solid-state battery isolator to the vehicle's electrical system. This allows the trailer's batteries to be charged while driving and prevents discharge of your vehicle's starting battery. The isolator is becoming standard equipment on many motor homes. "

I've seen the isolator advertised in some catalogs, but I can't remember where or when.

Good luck!
