Chance At Different Engine.

I have a 1980 Bass Tracker II with a 35hp Johnson Long Shaft on it. I have a chance to purchase a Johnson 50hp short shaft for it. I am wondering if a short shaft will work for my boat? Don't know much about either long or short shaft, but this 50hp is a good deal, so I don't want to pass it up if it will work.

I know it's late, but what did you end up doing with it? Do you have any pictures of your Bass Tracker? I'm really starting to like stuff made from the mid 90's and earlier for some reason.
