Hi what type of adhesive should I used to tack down some carpet that has came loose in spots?

if its only a few sq. in. a spray can of contact cement will work for a large area i would use a below grade carpet glue with the proper notched trowel.

X2 to Ole fisherman. I would add to remove all the loose stuff behind it you can and wipe with naptha or similar to help adhesion.
