Best way to remover rub marks on Tracker graphite metallic paint?

Could you post a picture of the defect?

Is this in gelcoat? Paint over Gelcoat? Paint on aluminum?

If it is in paint: try some rubbing compound, then polishing compound, and finally wax.

If in gelcoat: wet sanding, and polish. This is a more detailed process. I made a post about it.

Tracker boats of recent are powder coat. Restoration is the same as automotive paint. There are tons of you tube videos on using polishing/cutting compound.

Denatured alcohol, rubbing alcohol works too. Paint thinner works.

Put on paper towel.

Just remember to wax after you clean rub marks off.

My boat is an aluminum 2006 Tracker tournament V-18...tried buffing with car wax with poor results. Fishin around too many stickups on Truman and Mark Twain!

I have an aluminum '06 Tracker Tournamet V-18. I have tried to buff the marks with no success. Been fishin around stickups on Truman and Mark Twain!

Those are well earned battle scars.

Looks like you need something to burr off the raised edges. maybe put blue tape around it and sand with a 800 or 1000 grit wet sand paper.
fill with liquid wax and buff that out.

See if others agree or have better ideas.

Based on those pictures I would use some rubbing compound then polishing compound and then wax. ( I think that is the right order. You want to go from the most abrasive to the least.) I think those would buff out.

An orbital polisher may be a good investment. I got one at northern tool for around $100 bucks.
