I have a bent skeg pretty good one no chips at all just bent also a lot of vibration going on. Can It be straightened out and what's the best method.
 
If you try to bend it back, chances are it will break. Either way, you have nothing to lose. Try bending it back first. Then if it breaks you can buy a new one.
 
You can also take it to a shop where they will drop your LU heat and straighten. Some have also used 2X4's and clamps to straighten somewhat.
 
I put a stainless skeg guard on mine, saved further damage to skeg and prop several times.
