Pulled one out the ole barn my father gave me.... lordie have mercy!!!! Trees rootin in the thang!!! I am super grateful that he has given me my first boat; but he is going to put my mechanical/cleaning skills to work. Just joining up to see if there are any trick or tips I should be aware of. So far I know it’s an 86 Nitro.

the first thing I would do is check the hull for delaminatiion.then check stringers for rot. then you can decide whether to restore the boat or not. if you go to some of the boat restoration websites you can get some idea of what your up against. almost anything can be made like new. it's just a question of how much time and money you can afford. I wish you luck

Got her cleaned up. Finally got it running, but it’s not pissing out water. Checking the impeller next.

did you clean the carburetors one that is clogged up can burn a cylinder out. When it is not getting gas it is not getting oil.
