Just installed keelshield and put 5200 sealant around the edges. How long do I need to wait before I can put the boat in the water? It says it takes 48 hours to become tack free and 5-7 days to fully cure. Do I really need to wait the full 7 days. Wanna go fishing this weekend but don't wanna mess up the sealant.

Did you use the quick dry {red labeled}? If not...allow ALL of the time for it to cure, or the water sheer will peel it right off.

Should open my good eye.....you obviously have the "blue-label", which is the slow-cure....sorry, but let it dry. I hate that stuff.

1. Why did you use this for this application? What did you think you were going to accomplish?

2. Wait the full curing time or it will peel off as Bob said.
