i'm finally looking to put a trolling motor on the boat. trying to decide between an 8 or 9.9hp and also shaft length. anyone have suggestions on the 20" long shaft or the 25" extra long? is the 20" sufficient or would the 25" be a better choice? --Brian

I have a 2012 V-175 combo with a 9.9 Bigfoot kicker motor. It is clamped directly to the hull on the passenger side. I needed to get the 25" shaft to make it long enough to reach under the boat (it is not in the dip around where the 90hp motor is at). it is tiller steer and works great. Purchased it with the boat and just put a "t" in the gas line to my 90 Optimax (and a separate fuel bulb) to feed it.
