2000 750NX DC w 125 setup?

Looking for input.
I read that the recommended prop for this setup is a 26P and the motor mounted middle (3rd) hole. Can anyone confirm this?
I picked up a new 26P Laser II and the boat plows and takes forever to plane. The motor is struggling and does not whined out until I get on plane.
Currently the motor is mounted first hole.
The previous owns are no help as the boat was repowered. They originally had a 90 on it.
Any setup tips would be appreciated.

Also running with the prop vents that were shipped with the new prop.

No way a 125hp will turn a 26. 22, 23 max
