I have a 1995 Mercury 115hp 2 stroke carbs, there is water coming out of hole in top of the lower unit. I've never noticed this before, is this a problem or is it normal?

Set a pan under the lower unit and remove the bottom drain plug on the lower unit. If it has been setting for a while and there is water in the lower unit water will run out or it the oil is gray color it has water in it. Take it to a marine mechanic to have the seals replaced and the gears check for damage.
The lower unit oil should be checked a couple times a year and replaced once a year.

Is it normal sometimes for a 2 stroke to leak oil from the exhaust area and on top drain port of the lower unit if you idle for too long of a period? It’s just characteristic of a 2 stroke !!!!! Not burning all the fuel and oil of a V4?

Sometimes when they Idle for a while they may not burn the all of the oil. Do you still use the oil injection system or premix you oil.
