06 Nitro 750

I am looking at an 2006 Nitro 750 with a 90 HP Merc. Do you think that the motor is enough for that boat? I am not a speed guy, just want to get up on plane without problems. I assume this is a 17' boat, right?

Looked at the 2011 Z6 yesterday at the Expo, do you think the decks would be about the same size ( Z6 - 750)?

Also looking at a Nitro 482 2006 with a 115 Merc. If you know the difference between these two boats, please let me know.

I own a 08 Z6 which is the same as a 482 and love the boat. All of these boats have about the same size deck. I limke the older Z6 because they have the rod storage on the sides and not up the middle.

baitbar, do you have a 115 hp on your boat? can you tell me about how fast your boat goes?

I had a 90 that toped at about 40-42 gps now I have a 125 and hitting 53+GPS. The boat has always plained good unless I had full tank gas and full live wells.

kenny, I had a 2003 NX750 with the 90, I ran 48 GPS with a Quicksilver 22p on it, good hole shot as well. Good boat.

I have an 05 750DC, you can plane out and then some with the 90. Is it a speed demon no, but is enough for what I do. I have a 21P Laser II and max speedo on smooth water says 48-49, have not confirmed with GPS but that feels close. I usually run it around 4200 which seems like a sweet spot between MPG and speed. It was max 46-47 with the stock aluminum 21P, not a lot of difference. It is a solid boat but it is not a heavy boat, does not use too much gas.

[Nitro 901CDX]

I had a 2005 nitro 750 with a 115hp on it. Bought it new in 04 and just sold it last October for a 2008 nitro 901 CDX that was a new left over that I got one heck of a deal on. I loved the 750 and would still have it but could not pass up the deal on my new 901. My top speed was 56mph in the 750 with me alone and about 51mph with my fishing buddy. Hole shot was ok but not quick out of the hole. If speed is not important to you I think the 90hp would be fine.

I have a 2004 Nitro 750NX DC w/115 on it. New alum prop 13-19 can only get 42mph on the GPS.

I find it hard to believe someone could get 56mph, but that would be great.



I want to buy a prop to get closer to 50. What prop did you have

I have a 2001 with a 90 ELPTO. I got 45 GPS once with a light load. Normal speed is low 40's. I am running a 21 Stainless Ballistic prop. With a 115 a 19 pitch is way too small. Get stainless also. Maybe someone with a 115 could suggest the proper pitch.

I have a 2001 700lx (3" shorter then a 750). It had a 90 ELPTO on it and I would max out with light gear at 48-49 GPS (55-56 speedo) with a 21p Ballistic prop. Put a 115 optimax on it and get 51-52 GPS with 21p Laser II prop. By the way the merc prop with the PVS helped my holeshot tenfold...
