    Pain At The Pump

You don’t “dispose” of lithium batteries. They are recycled. The lithium and cobalt can be precipitated out of the cells with almost 100% yield. Crude oil is a finite commodity, and we’re using it at a faster rate everyday. One day - maybe not in my lifetime - it will be gone.

Leave My Fish Finder on the Boat Between Trips?

I keep my boat in the garage and I live in the middle of nowhere, so I don’t worry about it. However, if I things were different, I would DEFINITELY pull my fish finder, tackle, and rods each time. You don’t realize how much you spend on that crap until it’s stolen.

Getting more HP out of your Merc 200

Check out the Scream and Fly website. You will find more info on hopping up outboards than you'll know what to do with. Their sponsors are also great to deal with.

    MERCURY MARINE VESSEL VIEW

Like others have stated, it’s great. Depending on what fish finder you have - if any - it can be integrated so it’s displayed right on the screen.

    Rusting Trailer Rims

Do you let the boat sit outside? I’m wondering if water is pooling in those areas, promoting the rust. Steel/chrome wheels aren’t the best at at holding up to the weather, anyway. And I would also check on what appears to be the crack that cceguy pointed out. That could be bad news.

    Hydraulic steering

Yes it will work. The SeaStar kits are decent and some with good instructions. You can contact them directly for specific guidance.

Non ethanol gas for Mercury XS Pro

You’ll get people on both sides of the fence on this issue. My advice is do your own research. There are some great videos on YouTube that show the breakdown of ethanol fuel. However the amount of actual water is minuscule. You will only run into issues if you let the fuel sit for a looooong...

2020 Mercury 250 Pro XS Shift Actuator

Oh man that really sucks. 3 days on Guntersville would have been AWESOME . . . unless you're boat craps out. I empathize with you and hope it works out for you. There is nothing worse than trying to deal with someone who doesn't give a **** about their job. It shows a personal lack of integrity.

To wax or not to wax... that is the question

I wax my boat all the time. I enjoy “tinkering” with my boat, and this is just one of the things I can do to keep myself busy. My boat is used year round and I wipe it down every time it comes out of the water, and I wash and wax it about once per month. I’ll even clean the engine under the...

    Depth finder

I have a HELIX 9 at the bow and a 7 at the console. I'll be upgrading to two SOLIX units with Live Imaging soon, so the HELIXs will be for sale in the not-too-distant future.

    Depth finder

Agreed. Spend the money up front to get something decent… even if you have to wait a little while. I have two HELIX units on my boat and they are head and shoulders above the el cheapo units I had on my boat.

    Maintaining Nitro Fiberglass Hulls?

Hot Sauce is great for removing hard water spotting and scum. I use it every time I pull the boat out of the water … right there in the parking lot. Between it and the Meguiars Marine Wax a few times/year, your hull should look like new for 30 years.

    Transom tie downs

They’re pretty sweet. I had them on my last boat and loved them. My new boat came with the cam-lock style straps which are quick and easy - so much so that I haven’t bothered to replace them with the retractable straps.

    Is rebuild worth it

Glad it worked out for you. As long as the work was done correctly, you should be good to go for many, many years.

    Identification of device

Depth sounder. I had one just like it on my old boat. Yes the up/down arrows to set the shallow depth alarm.

    2021 Z19 Pro Trailer Brakes

Yeah, its a brand new boat . . . take it back to the dealer and tell them 'fix it'.

    Z19 Sport ski pylon question

Agreed. I pull a 3-person "couch" with three teenagers on it. I'll run them up to about 40 MPH, then start swaying them back and forth until they catch air or beg for mercy. No issues to date with my pylon.

    Z19 Sport

Thanks, Fro. I've been toying with the idea of trying a 4-blade prop. I like the idea of being up on plane at a slower speed. I could also stand to go up on the pitch as I can run my Mercury 150 past redline with my current prop (24P QuickSilver, 3-blade). I seem to recall that you'll lose about...

What prop did you go with? What are the specs? Lastly, what size outboard do you have?
