After some careful thought, I have decided to trade my current boat in on a 2015 Sun Tracker 22' Fishing Pontoon (I'm officially old). I got it with the 115hp fourstroke, and will be removing all my additions to the TXW, like the ipilot and both fish finders.
Don't think the ipilot will work...
I'm thinking about getting one of these http://www.hotwoods.com/CustomPontoon.htm. Price appears to be reasonable.
Curious, if anyone has one or something similar .
TIA,
Mike
Hey Don, are the lakes filling up in OKC? The city opened the gates on the damn at Lawtonka last Wednesday. I hear that the dock is back in the water at Ellsworth.
Mike enjoy your trip, look forward to your report.
Agree, the wind has been horrible. I'm going to try and get out Saturday. Got the adapter cable for my Lowrance FF to enable the us2 transducer on the min kota. Want to give it a try, not expecting much out it though.
Mike
Don,
Didn't catch ****, but I love the trolling motor. It has an anchor feature that keeps you within 5 feet of your desired location.
May go back out tomorrow, depends on the wind.
Mike
Well, I got the Terrova Ipilot installed, really had no issues other than the pedal doesn't fit in the pan. I put a temporary cover over it and just put the pedal on top.
Headed out this morning to give it a try.
Mike
I didn't purchase the Ilink. I've got a ray marine dragonfly at the console and a Lowrance 5 HDI up front. I heard many horror stories (no first hand experience) about that feature from numerous boat pro's.
Thanks Greg, I'll take a look. Local boat shop told me today that they use the stock...
You are correct just read the install manual and it does say 60amp breaker, unless the wire is rolled up somewhere, boats only 17.8 ' long. I should be ok with the 8ga wire. I'm not positive what gauge it is.
Air Force-thanks, I'm replacing the standard 45 ft lb one that came on the boat. I went by the local tracker dealer yesterday after work. They told me, the only thing I need to do is purchase another battery. I will be sure to check the breaker size when I add the new battery, already have a...
So I finally ordered the above trolling motor, It will be here on the 31st. I know I have to get another battery, wire it like described above. Will I need to replace the plug at the bow and do I need to install/upgrade the breaker?
As always TIA,
Mike
Couldn't even get a mosquito to bite. I tried crank bait, chatter bait, spinners, spoons etc. Appeared to be the norm as I talked with several others who experienced the same.
Even Jug fishing was producing poor results.
It's got to get better. o_O
Thinking about adding the above to my Tracker 175 TXW. I know I will have to add another 12V battery. I need some advice on how the additional battery needs to be wired in order for the 24v.
Pictures would be great
TIA for any help,
Mike
Well no fishing for me today. I really wanted to get out but we have some sustained 20 MPH wind happening with gust up to 35. No fun fishing when the water is white capping, that and I hate trying to hit the trailer when I'm ready to go home.
I believe all the above, is a sign of getting old...
Don,
I can't wait to get out Saturday. I figured they would be running deep still. I'm gonna do some trolling, rigged my poles with 3 way swivels so I can get the crank bait down in the zone. I may try some drop shots also.
