I love my DOWCO. It does fit like a glove. The ratchet really tightens it down.

    Thoughts on new Boat

Just made my first shakedown run on Lake Ontario with my new 2012 Targa WT. With advice from the very knowledgeable guys on this forum, I went with the 2 stroke 150 hp and I'm glad I did. The boat planes out quickly and with 4 of us on board, a 9.9 4 stroke kicker, 2 electric downriggers, 12...

    Boat operation

Just my 2 cents...when you get to the ramp, pull over somewhere and let your bearings cool down before getting them wet. Hot bearings and cold water create a vacuum sucking that water right into them. I always bring a grease gun and fill them with grease (Buddy Bearings have a zerk fitting) so...

    Fuse box/ panel

I'm at a loss here and the only thing I can think of is maybe it's up in the bow somewhere near your trolling motor? Or a call to Nitro might help.

    01 nitro 901cdx trailer

On mine there's a little slot for a screwdriver to pry the chrome center cap off.

    Fuse box/ panel

I don't own a Nitro but I would think the fuse panel is near the dash area where most of your accessories and switches are. I've found that most electrical issues are related to grounding problems. Perhaps the main ground on the panel has worked itself loose over the course of 20 years. Can you...

    Merc OptiMax/DFI Motor Oil

The service tech at BP told me that Quicksilver and Optimax DFI are the same oil with different labels and recommended Quicksilver because it's cheaper. I believe some Walmarts sell Quicksilver too.

    Rod Length

Very nice reel. This collector ranks it right up there with a 6500 C (mint) that sold on EBay for $1500.00. And here's a tutorial should you ever want to service it yourself. http://alantani.com/index.php?topic=6028.0 http://www.realsreels.com/ABUOldClassics/ABUOldClassicsPaulBrown6500C.aspx

    on board battery charger

TOXIC I have the same set-up as Andy, a cranking battery and two deep cycles hooked up in series for the 24 volt trolling motor. I was told by the dealer I could hook up my 12 volt accessories (downriggers) to one and only one of deep cycle batteries and that would give me 12 volts to safely...

    Motor ?

I envy you then. We can't buy ethanol free gas where I live. We've got more oil underground and offshore than Saudi Arabia. If we could drill our own oil that would solve most of this countries financial problems! If anyone's interested, here's a list of ethanol free gas stations...

    Motor ?

I wonder if it's an ethanol problem? Perhaps it runs fine until it picks up the separated ethanol then quits, eventually picking up the good gas and running fine. If you can hook up your outboard to a portable gas tank filled with fresh gas and it runs fine, you may have to empty your gas tank...
