I'm at a loss here and the only thing I can think of is maybe it's up in the bow somewhere near your trolling motor? Or a call to Nitro might help.

I don't own a Nitro but I would think the fuse panel is near the dash area where most of your accessories and switches are. I've found that most electrical issues are related to grounding problems. Perhaps the main ground on the panel has worked itself loose over the course of 20 years. Can you...

The service tech at BP told me that Quicksilver and Optimax DFI are the same oil with different labels and recommended Quicksilver because it's cheaper. I believe some Walmarts sell Quicksilver too.

TOXIC I have the same set-up as Andy, a cranking battery and two deep cycles hooked up in series for the 24 volt trolling motor. I was told by the dealer I could hook up my 12 volt accessories (downriggers) to one and only one of deep cycle batteries and that would give me 12 volts to safely...

I wonder if it's an ethanol problem? Perhaps it runs fine until it picks up the separated ethanol then quits, eventually picking up the good gas and running fine. If you can hook up your outboard to a portable gas tank filled with fresh gas and it runs fine, you may have to empty your gas tank...
