One year coming up 2012 targa18

I also have a 2012 Targa 18 about 1 year old. So far nothing has let me down. My glove box works just fine. FYI I tried to install a jack plate but steering cable not long enough without a bad angle. So I mounted the 150 4 stroke in the 4th hole and am now running a 19 Tempest at 50 mph. Goes...

    Fuel Additives

Not only works great in boats but helped pass emission test in my old car after it failed the first time. Great stuff. Use it for all engines.

    set-up

You didn't mention if you had taken out the prop plugs. If not, remove all plugs to give the prop more spin on take off.

Since we're all talking props lately...

Ok something is not right here! I had a pumped 175 merc (about 200 hp) on a 363 Ranger and everything was blueprinted (hull, prop etc) pushing a hi pro 4 blade at 71 GPS at 6000 rpm. That moto can't be stock or is relabled.

    Targa V18 bilge pump help?

I also have a Targa 18WT and was pondering the auto bilge switch-a-roo. I haven't checked into it yet but are the pipe/hose size the same. Dosen't the hose increase in size with each increase in volume? Don't know. I'll be checking. I had the old style 750 auto in my Ranger bass boat and they...

Since we're all talking props lately...

The recommended rpm range for that motor is 5000 - 5700 rpm. I think maybe your tach is wrong? Most rigs are running 24 or 25P.

    Advice on new boat

I ran a Ranger bass boat for 20 some odd years and when I went fishing for anything other than bass, walleye, crappie it was a pain in the rear. I didn't fish tournaments anymore, one of the main reasons for having a "tournament boat", it was time to buy the all around boat. I got the 2012 Targa...

    2013 Trarga

My 2 cents worth goes to, yes, the Targa is for me a great boat. I have a 2012 18 WT w/ 150 4 stroke. I fish the mighty Columbia River and combat big boat (ship) wakes all the time with no problems so far. Love the 4 stroke won't go back to 2 stroke. Recommend the larger 80# Terrova with the...

    Bimini Top

I have 2012 Targa 18WT. I first bought the widest top but decided to go with the 70 - 82" model (44" hi I'm short + 25" inside). I made my own track brackets. I didn't want to drill holes in the gunnels, plus it was almost impossible to get to underside for proper attachment. I came up with...

    Turning Down a Trolling Motor?

MotorGuide has thru the years many styles of props. Some of the older weed props like the 4 blade has less pitch than others. Also the lower powered props have less pitch than the newer ones. I'm not sure if you can adapt 3" and 3 1/2" styles. Some of the older 2 blade styles could work too...

    Jack Plate and Trim Question

There are so many variables when it comes to your problems. Prop selection is a big part of the equation. You didn't mention what you running. 3 bladder act different from 4 bladders. You must play with your jack height until the rpm blow out easily or when water pressure drops below 10#. You...

2011 Tracker Targa V18WT Electrical Conduits

Could they be the five rod tubes that extend from the rod locker all the way to the bow?

    Propeller

You normally don't have a choice in diameter size. Basically, every manufacture has a little different diameter for the style of prop. 3 blade will have a larger diameter than a 4 blade. So you just go by the pitch with the same manufacture.

    chiming problems

Many times performance problems comes down to the prop. It is more important than you think. Most props from all manufactures need to be checked. They need to be blueprinted and balanced. You don't put tires on your rig without balancing them, do you? Anytime you're running a boat above 60 mph...

    Back for help again!

Don't know about your seat compartment but have removed many decals from many different types of boats and vehicles. Use a hair dryer on the low setting, warm up the decal then start pulling off the decal. The best tool you can use is your thumb nail. It won't scratch the surface. Just about...

    Which motor?

I have a 2012 Targa 18 WT with the 150 XL 4 stroke. I have had Merc 2 strokes for 30 years and now with these new 4 strokes< you have to think strongly about puttin on the 4 stroke. The advantages are many. You don't have to buy that expensive oil. You won't have the oil reservoir in the boat...

    Motor mounting Height

Mine is the same, second hole. Also I have to watch the trailer height or all hit too!

    Motor mounting Height

I'm in the same boat as you (2012 Targa 18 WT) wondering about engine height. I've got the 150 4 stroke running a 19 Tempest around 49 mph (gps) at 5600 rpms. The prop shaft is 7" below the bottom of the boat. I know this is creating a lot of extra drag. Most bass boats run from 3 1/2 to 4"...

    Rod socks

I bought a set of 8 rod socks on ebay from a woman who sews them from camo material. They were for 6' and 7'. Fit all my spin sticks. They have a loop on the closed end and elastic on the open end. Plus I bid on them and got em for about $2.50 each!

    Steering problems

You have steering torque from the 3 blade prop you're running (I assume it is). If you have a jack plate, raise or lower to remove most of the torque. If not, use a trophy. It should eliminate all of the torque you have.
