I have owned both and think they are both fine. I did have a fisherman more knowledgable than me say that the Lowrance GPS was better than the HB though. Can't say that I really notice a difference, but then again maybe that's why I seem to get outfished most of the time!!!

I had one of the Nitro covers for my 882 and I didn't care for it either. Sure you could truck down the road with it no problem, but it didn't keep the rain out like I thought it should for $300

The images you see are going to come from directly under your transducer, wherever it is mounted. Usually at the stren or on the trolling motor.
