I mostly fish for musky and my lures average $15-$20 per lure. Get yourself a good lure retriever and fire away! There's one guy I see at the musky shows that hand carves lures in the 24" - 36" range. They run around $200 per and guys troll with them on the great lakes.

I'd focus on the dealer. Any issues that might come up will be handled first by your dealer. If they're just interested in the sale, then you're not going to be satisfied. For what it's worth, my first tracker was a 14' jon boat package from tracker bought in 1988. I kept it until 2001...

I have a Pro-Angler 16, very similar to the Pro Guide. I have the 25hp without a hydrofoil and can get up on plane. The hydrofoil would definitely help though. I opted for a 9.8 kicker motor for the restricted lakes in SW PA. I'm still not sure it was the best way to go... I like the 25 for...

LOL! Reminds me of the time I hooked a discarded anchor while trolling for muskie. It was a great fight for 15 minutes, even taking line when I dragged it over a deeper spot! After about 2 minutes I knew it wasn't a fish, but my buddy was convinced it was a record musky.
