My old 93 DC with a 90 Evinrude planed just fine. I'd guess it's the prop. See if you can find a dealer who will let you try different props. I can't remember what pitch I had but I tach out at 5500rpms. 4000 is way too low. I'd say over propped.

One thing to check. My 170 had a rub rail around the boat where the top cap joins the hull. There's a rubber strip in the middle of the rub rail under which lies the screws that hold top and bottom together. They work loose and it's a source of leaking. I'd check them when I seen a bulge in...

When I had my 17 foot Nitro I had that problems. I took off the cap and fixture that held it in place and pulled it out. It was a rubber flex hose. It was crimped almost shut. I cut off about 4 inches and it took fuel as fast as I could pump it in. fatrap

Running fine now with the update and hard restart. Also found out that I wasn't running my Navionics card but the Lowrance one that came with it. Much better detail with the Navinics but slower to update and lock on position.
